Milan ArtWeek is back, the week dedicated to art

With beyond 400 appointments promoted by 230 realities, this one tenth edition of Milan Art Week is coordinated by Arte Totale ETSan association that brings together ArtsFor_, Artshell and MAC Milano Art Community, and is created thanks to the main sponsor Generali Bank. “This year too Milan confirms itself as a international crossroads for contemporary artoffering citizens and visitors a rich and widespread program that crosses the entire urban fabric. The tenth edition of Milan Art Week accompanies the thirtieth edition of miart, which takes the opportunity of this anniversary to innovate profoundly, but also embraces the arrival of Paris Internationalthe independent platform founded in Paris in 2015, which for its first edition outside France chooses Milan, confirming the centrality of our city on the European and international art scene“, said the Councilor for Culture Tommaso Sacchi.

The Milan ArtWeek program

The program of exhibitions and inaugurations in the city ​​museums represents the heart of Milano Art Weekarticulated in projects that cross languages, generations and perspectives of contemporary artistic research. Among the new features of the tenth edition it should be noted Ghost Trackthe project born from the collaboration between i Civic Museums of the Municipality of Milan and MAC – Milano Art Community, an association that brings together over 30 entities including galleries, foundations, institutions and non-profit spaces of the Milanese contemporary art scene.

A series of interventions by contemporary artists converse with them permanent collections of city museums and cultural institutions not dedicated to modern and contemporary art – including i Museums of the Sforzesco Castleil Civic Archaeological Museumil Natural History Museuml’Civic Aquarium and the Museum of the Risorgimento – as real visual counterpoints next to historical works, inserted in shop windows or in exhibition itineraries. Interventions that do not alter the usual use, but introduce new levels of reading. A project that invites the public to rediscover the city’s museums and experience the cultural heritage in a renewed way, while at the same time strengthening ties within the artistic and museum community. The Municipality of Milan also renews the partnership with Democracy and Culture Foundation and The New York Times, which in collaboration with Milano & Partners and thanks to the support of DILS promotes Art for Tomorrow Talks – The Blurry Border Between Design & Art: on April 14th at the Civic Aquarium international voices are questioning the border between art and design.

The most anticipated exhibitions and installations

Among the most anticipated events of this edition of Milano Art Week include the exhibition The Only True Anarchy Is That Of Power al PAC Pavilion of Contemporary Art – which opens the Milan Art Week on April 13th with the performance of the Australian artist Marco Fusinato – and the work site-specific / Parnassus created specifically by Letia (Letizia Cariello) for the Sala del Parnaso at the GAM – Modern Art Gallery. Il Museum of the Twentieth Century continues and strengthens the work of valorising its collection through a complex series of new projects that intervene in a timely and widespread way on the museum’s spaces and exhibition devices: greetings! hallo! hello! Miart and Paris Internationale: future editions

Finally, from 17 to 19 April, it returns miartthe international modern and contemporary art fair organized by Fiera Milano, which in 2026 celebrates his thirtieth edition with the title New Directions: miart, but different. An edition that marks a moment of transformation for the event, starting from the theme – inspired by the album of the same name by John Coltrane – which takes on the language of jazz as a curatorial model, based on listening, dialogue and improvisation. On the occasion of Milano Art Week 2026arrives in the city for the first time Paris Internationale Milanothe Italian stage of the independent platform founded in Paris in 2015.
