Cycling: Tadej Pogacar’s torn jersey from Milan-San Remo sold at auction for more than 95,000 euros

The torn jersey of Tadej Pogacar, winner of Milan-San Remo despite a fall on Saturday March 21, made one happy three weeks later. Shortly before the start of Paris-Roubaix, Sunday April 12, the tunic was purchased for an amount of 95,100 euros during an auction, indicated the website of the Slovenian runner’s foundation, which will receive the profits from the sale in order to support children in difficulty. To acquire the jersey, the buyer significantly outbid the previous offer, which amounted to 72,100 euros.

Titled in the Primavera for the first time in his career, Pogacar autographed the jersey he wore on race day, as did his teammates. “Despite a damaged bike and a torn jersey, he continued the race and won,” read the text presented during the auction of the tunic.

The four-time winner of the Tour de France, titled on the Grande Boucle in 2020, 2021, 2024 and 2025, failed to win on the Hell of the North on Sunday, won by the Belgian Wout Van Aert after an epic sprint against Pogacar. “Two weeks ago I would have said that Milan-San Remo was the hardest Monument to win but here I finished second again… It’s just my second participation, I need time to analyze and we’ll see,” declared the 27-year-old runner after his second place.
