McIlroy wins $4.5 million and wins the Masters for the second time in a row

A press report revealed that Irish golf star Rory McIlroy received a check worth $4.5 million, after winning the Masters Championship title for the second time in a row, on Sunday.
The value of the prize was approximately $300,000 higher than what he received after winning last year’s edition, after raising the total tournament prizes from $21 million in 2025 to $22 million this year.
With this amount, McIlroy outperforms the legends of the game in terms of the return of one title, as it exceeded what Tiger Woods, the record holder of five championship titles, and Phil Mickelson, who won it three times, obtained in terms of the value of the financial prizes upon crowning.
McIlroy also became only the fourth player in the history of golf to win the Masters title twice in a row, joining a list of legends that includes Jack Nicklaus, Nick Faldo and Tiger Woods.
