Between rue Taine and avenue Daumesnil, around ten premises are for sale or rent. Behind these closures, rents that have become “impossible to afford” for managers, according to the MP (Les Écologists) for the 8th district of Paris, Eva Sas.
Already many are faced with falling attendance and competition from online sales, the equation is becoming insoluble for many Parisian traders. Even the post office on rue de Dijon, frequented by barely 20 customers per day, will close its doors next June, the company confirms to Le Parisien.
