“This is my life”, Sylvie Vartan will give a masterclass at the Palais des Congrès in Paris

The star singer of the yéyé years, and Johnny Hallyday’s first great love, returns to Paris. Sylvie Vartan will give a masterclass at the Palais des Congrès on May 12. This intimate 1h30 show, entitled This is my lifewill revisit a unique destiny of acrobat which began 65 years ago.

On her website sylvie-vartan.com, admirers can already discover a video which retraces the journey of an idol… of young people. Just under the trailer, Sylvie Vartan shares a message: “Happy to meet you at the Palais des Congrès for a unique and more intimate meeting: my first masterclass. Surrounded by Roland Perez and a large orchestra, I will open to you a few pages of my history, through memories, films and unpublished images… A moment of emotion, between you and me”.

Initiated by her husband Tony Scotti and producers Jean-Luc Azoulay and Thierry Chabrot, the masterclass will highlight the key moments of her career. “His beginnings in France, the spectacular rise of the yéyé years, his significant collaborations, his commitments, the personal trials which shaped his trajectory and his singular relationship with the stage and the public”, can we read on the site. This nostalgic story will be punctuated by a large orchestra, which will replay its emblematic titles: All my friends, Listening to the rain, The most beautiful to go dancing, and of course the moving Maritza.

The rest of the masterclass will be led by Roland Perez, the author of the book My Mother, God and Sylvie Vartanwhich was adapted for the cinema in 2025 by Ken Scott. He will accompany the singer, now 81 years old, and in the form of a dialogue, they will recount the stages of her life together.

After having “realized all her dreams”, Sylvie Vartan gave six final Parisian concerts last year at the Dôme de Paris and the Palais des Congrès. We thought it was a goodbye.
