Energy: Pichetto assures, there will be no rationing

“I can’t see at the moment no immediate risk or in the near” future of “energy rationing”. The Minister of Environment and Energy Security said this, Gilberto Pichetto Fratin, on the sidelines of the 30th anniversary of Arpa Piemonte in Turin.

The evaluations made at European level rather concern the preparation of emergency plans. The minister recalled that Italy remains a country approximately 80% dependent on foreign countries energy: it has few own sources, with limited contributions from hydroelectric and geothermal. The rest comes in the form of imported gas or electricity, for example from France.

Orsini: “Reopening to Russian gas? We need reflection”

“Before the Russian-Ukrainian conflict we paid 28 euros per megawatt hour for energy, today 160 megawatt hours: I believe that we need to reflect on this.” The president of Confindustria, Emanuele Orsini, says this during the interview at the conference “Genoa and Liguria, capitals of the sea economy 2026”, when asked about the possibility of suspending the ban on Russian gas. “I – he adds – believe that we need to do everything possible to safeguard the company, because today we are out of any international competition”.
