Google launches beta 4 of Android 17, the last before its launch and with mention of the ‘Pixel Glow’ function

Google has launched the beta 4 of the Android 17 operating system For devices in the Pixel range, the last scheduled before launch general, and in which the ‘Pixel Glow’ function.

Last February, the company deployed the first beta of Android 17, allowing developers for the first time to start testing the compatibility of their applications and identifying problems.

Specifically, Android 17 beta 4 requires developers to compliance with guidance restrictionsresizing and aspect ratio on large screens; the extension of Secure Dynamic Code Loading (DCL) protection to native libraries; the Enabling Certificate Transparency (CT) by default); local network protections; and the background audio boost.

Furthermore, Android has introduced the Memory limits for apps based on the total RAM of the device, to create a “more stable and predictable” environment and thus prevent applications that consume more resources from affecting the overall performance of the system.

PIXEL GLOW

Beyond these new features, beta 4 of Android 17 contains in its code a reference to a tool called ‘Pixel Glow’an evolution of the “light animations” from phase 2 of the beta, discovered by the Android Authority team.

Under the premise “enjoy the moment without losing contact”, Google has indicated in the beta that ‘Pixel Glow’ emits “subtle” lights and colors on the back of the device to notify users of important activities when face down.

As indicated by the specialized portal 9to5Google, this function will be activated when interact with Gemini in addition to Illuminate the device when receiving calls or notifications from contacts marked as favorites.
