Spotify presents a new interface of its tablet application for an experience adapted to larger screens

Spotify has presented the new interface of your tablet applicationwith the aim of offering an experience adapted to the larger screens of these devices, so that feels more natural and fluidthus differentiating itself from the design that exists in the version for smartphones.

The residence is focused on taking advantage of the additional space offered by tablet screens compared to mobile phones. “Introducing a new app experience designed specifically for your tablet, making listening, viewing and discovering content more natural on larger screens,” the company stressed on its blog.

Specifically, the update incorporates a adaptive orientation to toggle between horizontal or vertical device layout; a folding side bar with interactive content; improved video experiencewhich highlights the ‘Switch to video’ button more; and the parallel navigation while playing content.

“Tablets offer more space to explore, so we designed it so you can browse and discover new favorites alongside what’s already playing. The goal was simple: wherever you open Spotify, the experience should be unmistakably Spotify,” said Spotify Director of Design and Customer Experience Nicole Burrow.

The redesign of the tablet application is now available on iOS and Android devices and represents “one more step towards a more unified Spotify experience.”
