Alpha Test launches ON: the new variety brand dedicated to personal growth

Alpha Test, the main publisher and training center in Italy specialized in preparing for university entrance tests and public competitions, launches a new variety brand on the market: ON. The project is led by the CEO of Alpha Test Alessandro Magno, former Chief Digital Officer at GeMS, Feltrinelli and Class Editori, according to whom: “ON was born from the belief that a good book must leave the reader better equipped: to read reality, make choices and act”.

ON’s books are aimed at those who face a moment of transition looking not only for inspiration, but also concrete tools for action. In a 2026 that foresees 16 releases, the first two titles will be in bookstores from May 5th.

The editorial line

It will develop in four areas: ‘Self-help‘, practical guides with an Anglo-Saxon feel designed for those who want to change something significant in their lives; ‘Stories of rebirth‘, memoirs and biographies that recount moments of crisis overcome; ‘Wellness‘, physical and mental health, balance and awareness at the center of texts that blend scientific rigor and accessibility; ‘Accessible disclosure‘, complex topics addressed clearly for readers who are not looking for academic manuals.

The first releases

From May 5th, ‘The Little Girl Nobody Saw’ by Fatima Sarnicola and ‘How to Survive an Asshole Boss’ by Laura Hambley Lovett will be in bookstores. The first title tells the true story of a childhood marked by abandonment and violence, and how a family capable of transmitting love can give a second chance.

The author, who has become a public voice on the topic, founded the AdopotLife portal in 2023. The second text represents a practical guide between journaling, awareness exercises and direct testimonies, in which the author (a Canadian psychologist and professor) intertwines research, true stories and personal reflections to show how toxic bosses destroy self-esteem, motivation and mental health, but also how one can get out of them.

Among the authors to be published soon are the founder of NerdFitness.com Steve Kamb, the content creator, scouter and free lance editor Andrea Amadio, the American best-selling self-help writer Monica Sweeney, the Shaolin Kung Fu expert Alessandro Ferrari, the Swiss entrepreneur and thinker specialized in the analysis of cognitive biases Rolf Dobelli, the training and professional growth experts Sarah Hellis and Helen Tupper. The team to support Alessandro Magno in the development of the project will be the Editorial Manager Arianna Comotti (formerly at Sperling & Kupfer, Mondadori Electa and Piemme), Samuele Cornalba, Junior Editor and Einaudi author, and Leonardo Milesi, Editor-in-Chief, formerly at Rizzoli. Stefano Miceli, Alpha Test Commercial Manager, will take care of positioning and trade development, Roberta Romano will be the Marketing and Social Manager, while visual identity and cover design are entrusted to the graphic studio The World of Dot.
