Framed in Group A, Spain avoided the always dangerous Australia and the almighty United States from the first pot, but they did lose to the host Germany. He was also lucky with respect to the third pot, as it was Japan’s turn instead of Italy, the current European bronze medalist who has beaten the Spanish with authority in their last two duels.

And regarding the fourth and final pot, knowing that a condition was that no more than two European teams could coincide in the same group, only Mali remained as a possible rival for the team coached by a brand new Fenerbahçe Women’s Euroleague champion Miguel Méndez.

Without having yet confirmed the schedules, FIBA ​​detailed on its website that Spain will debut in the championship against the Germans on Friday, September 4. The next day, ‘La Familia’ will face the Malian team and on Monday, September 7, they will play against the Japanese team.
