“It’s horrible”: the mayor of Marseille Benoît Payan destroys… the new OM logo

This is called not mincing words. Freshly re-elected mayor of Marseille, Benoît Payan said all the bad things he thought about the new Olympique de Marseille logo, unveiled at the beginning of April, in an interview given to BFM Marseille.

A tasty extract which was shared by the channel on its social networks. Asked about the new visual identity of the Marseille club, Payan replied without hesitation: “It is horrible”. “I’ve seen logos, but never such ugly logos,” he continues.

He goes even further: for him, OM must backtrack. “I think it’s a mistake. I think it needs to be repaired. You realize that Volkswagen has turned its logo around, making fun of us, saying: in fact the OM logo is the Volkswagen logo… Okay, there you go. »

“I think it doesn’t quite correspond to Olympique de Marseille,” continues the councilor. Some tell me: we’ll get used to it. Yes, you get used to everything. But I don’t like him. » An official disenchantment which is added to the pile of Marseille worries at the moment, OM being entangled in a sporting crisis which could well make its end of the season very gloomy.
