The FSB of the Russian Federation announced the prevention of a terrorist attack against the leadership of Roskomnadzor, blaming Ukraine

According to the FSB Public Relations Center, on April 18 it was planned to blow up a car using an explosive device.

Detentions took place in Moscow, Ufa, Novosibirsk and Yaroslavl. All defendants, according to the FSB, were recruited through Telegram.

The FSB named the leader of the group as a Moscow resident born in 2004: during his arrest, according to the intelligence service, he offered armed resistance and was “neutralized.”

During the searches, as stated by the FSB, improvised explosive devices weighing 1 kg, an F-1 grenade, a Makarov pistol with a device for silent shooting, gas pistols, walkie-talkies, neo-Nazi paraphernalia and symbols of Ukrainian paramilitary forces were seized.

Cases have been opened against the detainees on illegal trafficking in weapons and explosive devices; the issue of classifying their actions as preparation for a terrorist attack is being resolved.

The FSB also accused Ukrainian intelligence services of threatening and preparing attacks against Roskomnadzor employees and linked this to measures to “ensure the security of the information space,” including blocking Telegram and combating circumvention of restrictions via VPN.
