At least five dead in a Russian attack in Dnipro (Ukraine)

At least five people have been killed and 34 more have been injured during a Russian attack last night in the Ukrainian region of Dnipro, in eastern Ukraine, authorities have reported.

The military governor of the Dnipropetrovsk region, Oleksander Ganzha, on his social networks and has warned that there could be more bodies under the rubble. “The enemy has been attacking Dnipro for more than ten hours,” he explained.

“The Russians’ tactics have not changed: attack drones, cruise missiles and a significant amount of ballistic (missiles). Most of the targets were ordinary city infrastructure: residential buildings, energy and companies,” he said.

Among the injured there are at least two minors. “A 9-year-old boy is receiving outpatient care. A 17-year-old girl is hospitalized with a moderate prognosis,” he explained.

The last of the fatal victims has died in an attack against a multi-story building located in that same area carried out in the morning in which six other people have been injured.

In addition, firefighters had to put out a fire at a gas station in Dnipro caused by an attack carried out in the morning. Eight trucks and four cars were destroyed in the attack.

In total, at least 27 homes, two nursery schools and a clinic have been damaged. The mayor of Dnipro, Boris Filatov, explained that the shock wave has caused damage to about 1,500 windows.

Ukrainian authorities have reported a massive missile and drone attack using at least 650 drones and missiles and “deliberately attacking civilians”, Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andrii Sibiha has denounced.

“This is not a war, it is a calculated campaign of terror against our people. Russian leaders must be held accountable for these war crimes,” he stressed.

These are attacks “ordered, planned and executed with full knowledge of their consequences for the civilian population,” according to Sibiha, who calls for international pressure against Russia, “the only adequate response to Russian terror.”
