Safety and integrated management of water and energy resources

Managing climate change requires a multidisciplinary approach that involves both territorial reconstruction and industrial efficiency. Through the contribution of entities such as Sogesid SpA and Sogin SpA, the need emerged to coordinate the PNRR mission units with the authorities dedicated to the purification and reuse of waste water. The goal is to transform regulatory and environmental obligations into resilient operating models.

A fundamental pillar of this transition is data analytics. The availability of precise information on water availability and energy needs, supported by the monitoring of bodies such as ISPRA, allows us to prevent critical situations and optimize investments in networks. The integration of water security, energy and digital transition is considered the necessary trajectory to ensure sustainable development.

The utility sector is moving towards the multi-utility model, intended as an efficiency engine. “Synergistic work between institutions and professionals is the key to transforming the challenges of the PNRR into concrete opportunities for the country“, declared the President of ANGI, Gabriele Ferrieri. “As the National Association of Young Innovators, we are proud to have promoted this discussion table, convinced that the integration between water security, energy and digital transition represents the essential path to guarantee sustainable and resilient development for the Italy of the future“.

The event also marked the debut of the Italian Foundation for Strategic Development (FIPSS), created to connect different professional skills and operators in the area. According to the promoters of the foundation, the objective is “create a concrete bridge between a ruling class of administrators and entrepreneurs of the highest caliber […] and the country’s systemic challenges“. The proposed strategy aims to favor operational working tables based on real case studies, avoiding media narration to focus on environmental national security.

The consolidation of energy and water security requires that those involved in the field actively collaborate to build a culture of resource management based on timely comparison. “It is only through timely comparison between the subjects who operate directly in the field, based on concrete examples and case studies, that we can build real national security“, reiterated the FIPSS coordinators on the sidelines of the meeting. The integration between the different professional realities therefore remains the prerequisite for successfully implementing the ecological and energy transition planned for the coming years.
