Al-Mayadeen: Iran proposed a three-stage negotiation formula to the United States

The Lebanese Al-Mayadeen channel, associated with Hezbollah, citing its sources, reported that Iran handed over to the mediators a three-stage formula for negotiations with Washington.

According to the proposed scheme, the first stage should be devoted exclusively to ending the war and obtaining guarantees that it will not resume either against Iran or against Lebanon. Tehran refuses to discuss any other issues at this stage.

If an agreement is reached on the first issue, the parties move on to the second stage – the development of a new procedure for managing the Strait of Hormuz through the mediation of Oman. The third stage is the discussion of the nuclear program, which Iran is ready to begin only after the completion of the first two.

The message came against the backdrop of the visit of Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi to Pakistan, Oman and Moscow. According to the Iranian Tasnim agency, Araghchi’s visit to Pakistan was not related to nuclear negotiations, but was a continuation of bilateral consultations with the Pakistani side.
