With work scheduled to begin in May to create two dedicated public transport lanes in the Jerusalem Central Bus Terminal area, the Ministry of Transport and the Jerusalem Transport Master Plan have decided to reduce the number of buses entering the Central Bus Terminal by approximately 30%.
Some intercity bus routes heading to Jerusalem will be redirected to Shazar Boulevard to the Binyanei HaUma train station.
It also decided to completely cancel route No. 405, which runs between the central bus stations of Jerusalem and Tel Aviv, from May 1 due to a decrease in demand for it. Due to the cancellation of route No. 405, route No. 480 between Jerusalem and the Savidor (Arlozorov) terminal in Tel Aviv will be strengthened first of all. It will have a new stop on Kibbutz Galuyot Avenue. In parallel, route No. 490 will be strengthened, running from the Talpiot industrial zone in Jerusalem to Tel Aviv-Savidor-Merkaz, which will begin operating on Fridays.
In addition, flights on route No. 940 from Jerusalem to Haifa from Sunday to Thursday have been canceled: it will operate only on Friday and Saturday evenings.
Routes No. 401 and No. 402 between Bnei Brak and Jerusalem will not enter Jerusalem’s central bus station, but will stop on adjacent streets in areas inhabited by the ultra-Orthodox population.
Stops on route No. 187 (Jerusalem – Adar) and routes No. 615 and No. 620 (Jerusalem – Beit Shemesh) have been moved to Shazar Boulevard.
