They claim that there are no more PC games protected by the Denuvo anti-piracy system

Cracking experts have stated that the security measures of Denuvo’s software have been exceeded in all PC video games that include it, which puts an end to more than ten years of protection against piracy.

Denuvo is the name given to the anti-tampering software developed by the technology firm Denuvo Software Solutions – belonging to Irdeto – which has been protecting PC video games from illegal copying attempts since 2014.

The reasons are not always found in piracy, since games that have integrated Denuvo have received complaints about the impact that this security layer has on performance.

In this time, there have been many attempts by ‘cracking’ groups – an illegal practice that seeks to violate or manipulate the security measures of a computer program – to break the barriers established by Denuvo, with successes case by case, but nothing comprehensive.

The most prolific tactic took advantage of a bug in the software that allowed checks built into the game code to be bypassed, without having to completely remove protection. This has allowed pirated copies of recent titles to appear, such as Resident Evil Requiem and Crimson Desert.

Now, it seems that there are no PC games left with Denuvo protection intact, according to specialized media such as TechSpot and Tom’s Hardware, and it is stated in the forum dedicated to Denuvo on Reddit and even reported by the FitGirl ‘repacker’ portal.

Consequently, those responsible for Denuvo are already working on ways to mitigate this milestone. One of the first measures has been adopted jointly by 2K and Denuvo, which, to prevent the game from being unusable, require players to connect to the internet at least once every 14 days, before an ‘offline’ authorization token that has been implemented in titles such as NBA 2K25, NBA 2K26 and Marvel’s Midnight Suns expires, as reported in Pirat Nation.

This measure even affects offline game modes. In the event that the temporary token expires, the game will not be able to launch until the player connects to the internet again and another token is validated.
