Apple prepares the arrival of advanced AI photo editing features in iOS 27

Apple is preparing a redesign of photo editing tools with the support of artificial intelligence (AI) that will arrive with the new iteration of its operating systems, such as iOS 27.

The technology company aims to be on par with its rivals with the photo editing tools it offers on iPhone, iPad and Mac, and to do so it is working on a set of new features that will be powered by AI.

These features will be available in a new dedicated menu in Apple Intelligence, Apple’s own AI system, which will be accessible from the editing interface and is expected to include options such as ‘Extend’, ‘Enhance’ and ‘Reframe’, according to Bloomberg journalist Mark Gurman.

These advanced editing features are already present on other devices with the Android operating system, so Apple could shorten distances with your rivalswho have been able to take better advantage of the wave of generative AI.

However, according to the aforementioned media, in internal tests the ‘Extend’ and ‘Rebind’ functions have not proven to be completely reliableoffering imprecise results. This could affect its arrival, although the new editing features are expected to be available with iOS 27, iPadOS 27, and macOS 27.
