Saigontourist Group received the First Class Labor Medal for the second time

Saigontourist Group has developed sustainable tourism, increased regional and international links, and many community activities for more than 50 years, and was awarded the First Class Labor Medal on April 29.

Medal awarded by Vice President Vo Thi Anh Xuan to Saigon Tourism Corporation (Saigontourist Group), in the program “50-year journey of reaching out to the country”, in Ho Chi Minh City. The medal recognizes contributions to the service – tourism – travel industry and a series of social community programs and activities implemented by the group over the years.

Established in 1975, Saigontourist Group is one of the first tourism businesses in Ho Chi Minh City. From an initial scale of 236 officers and employees, managing a number of hotels and serving State delegations, the business gradually expanded, overcoming many difficult times to form an ecosystem of more than 100 units nationwide.

To date, the group has more than 17,000 employees, operating in 5 core areas including accommodation, travel, cuisine, entertainment and training.

During the development process, Saigontourist Group marked many milestones such as signing a contract to serve international guests since 1979; Participated in the ITB international tourism fair in 1984; signed the first joint venture in 1988; Established the Tourism Professional School in 1989. In the period 2009-2019, the enterprise put into operation hotels and resorts in border areas and islands.

In 2021, the unit participates in logistics work to prevent and control the Covid-19 epidemic in Ho Chi Minh City. At the same time, businesses promote regional connectivity and promote international tourism. The Saigontourist Group Culinary and Delicious Culture Festival, organized annually by the group from 2022, has been honored for many consecutive years as “The most unique Food Festival in the world” and “The most unique Food Festival in Asia”. In addition, Saigontourist Group promotes Vietnamese cuisine to international friends through co-organizing Vietnam Pho Festival from 2022, and successfully organizing the Saigontourist Group – Vietnam Culinary Cultural Festival event in Osaka, Japan in 2025.

During its 50 years of formation and development, Saigontourist Group has always oriented its development in parallel with community work. The Saigontourist Group Golf Tournament for the community by 2025 has raised 13 billion VND for charity work; Of which, 9 billion is for study promotion scholarships. Saigontourist Group Fund for the Community spent more than 10 billion on hundreds of charity houses, more than 20 billion to organize “Mid-Autumn Festival” for children in difficult circumstances…

In 2025, the business will record double-digit growth with total revenue of 16,935 billion VND, an increase of 11.2% compared to the previous year; pre-tax profit reached VND 4,353 billion, an increase of 16%; budget contribution of 3,458 billion VND, an increase of 14.5%. The number of customers served reached more than 2 million, an increase of 13%.

Previously, the Third Class Labor Medal was first awarded to the unit in 2014, after the title of Hero of Labor in 2013. Saigontourist Group representative said that the award is recognition for 50 years of effort, and at the same time poses a requirement to continue to innovate and improve competitiveness in the new period.

Within the framework of the program, businesses honor officers and employees with more than 25 years of service. The activity aims to appreciate the contributions of the staff, while spreading corporate cultural values ​​and a sense of responsibility.
