Fuchs on false reports: ‘It creates a big mess in schools’

The Minister of Science, Education and Youth, Radovan Fuchs, said on Thursday that false reports about bombs planted in schools are causing significant disruptions in classes, and expressed the hope that they will stop soon. “I hope this will stop because it really creates quite a mess in the course of classes, even though all those reports were false,” said Fuchs during a working visit to Zadar County. He emphasized that when it comes to about schools and similar institutions, cannot leave anything to chance, regardless of the difficulties such reports cause in the organization of classes.

At the same time, he rejected the proposals of individual directors about the introduction of online classes in such situations.

“Let them explain to me the purpose of online classes for one day… it’s a rather bad solution because it doesn’t make sense,” he said, adding that there is enough time to make up for classes during weekdays and, if necessary, on Saturdays.

The minister did not want to comment on specific arrests related to bomb threats.
