Gemini adds ability to generate downloadable files such as PDF, Microsoft World or Google Docs

Until now, to create a file with the information or response offered by the ‘chatbot’ in the application or web version, users had to copy, paste and reformat said content in the document in question that they wanted to create.

However, the technology giant intends to improve this experience by making it easier to directly obtain a downloadable file with the desired information from the Gemini application, that is, for the assistant to generate the file as a response.

This was detailed in a statement on his blog, where he explained that, with a single indication, Gemini will be able to create PDF, Microsoft Word and Excel files, as well as Google Docs, Sheets or Slides, among others. Including supported formats such as .csv, LaTeX, plain text (TXT), rich text format (RTF) and Markdown (MD).

This allows you to go from a simple brainstorm with the wizard to a complete file, “without leaving the application.” As Google has exemplified, it facilitates actions such as exporting a budget proposal to a Microsoft Excel (.xlsx) file or consolidating documents from an extensive collaboration into a single-page PDF or Microsoft Word (.docx) file.

It also allows you to use images of handwritten text, such as notes or graphs, and ask Gemini to rely on those photographs to generate a document with the information they contain, such as a PDF. After that, Gemini will make it possible to download the file to the device or export it to Google Drive.

To use this new function, all you have to do is tell the chatbot what you want to do, share the necessary information and, finally, select the ‘export’ option to download the result in the desired format.

However, Google has announced that this function to generate downloadable files is now available to all users globally in the Gemini application.
