They will represent southern Brittany in the national final of “The Best Bakery” on M6

Maël Le Corre and his partner, Laura Kiffer, settled a year ago in La Forêt-Fouesnant, a seaside resort in southern Finistère. Last December, recommended by customers, they were contacted to be cast for the show “La Meilleure Boulangerie de France” on M6 in the southern part of Brittany. Then everything happened quickly. “We had a few weeks to prepare a signature bread and a favorite product. We might as well tell you that in the middle of the galette des rois period, it was hot,” they smile.

The filming was done in one day in the presence of Bruno Cormerais and Chiara Serpaggi, two members of the jury.

The program was broadcast during the week of April 27 and the Forestois were on television on Monday April, facing another bakery from Lokmaria. “We offered a mushroom bread, Litchéa, a cake specially created for the show, as a favorite product, a local hot dog, composed of a Molène sausage with candied onions, buckwheat béchamel and local Sehedic cider. Chiara tasted and loved our black forest revisited in a tartlet.”

The Foresters, who wore outfits offered by Armor-Lux, had to wait for the result on Friday May 1 to find out who, of the five winners of the week, would go to the national final to face the other regions of France.

Among the 28 best in France

It was with the jubilation and joy of an entire community, gathered in front of the television screen, that Bruno Cormerais announced that the Atelier had won the week of competition with an excellent average of 9.4 out of 10.

Now it’s all up in the air for Maël, Ronan and Laura since they will only have a few weeks to concoct a sweet or savory dish corresponding to the jury’s instructions. They will face the 27 other selected candidates. “We are already very proud to be among the 28 best bakeries in France and why not, the best. It would truly be a consecration.” The Forest team will be coached by the best bakery worker in France in 2023, Aurélien Le Mouillour. And everyone will of course wear the famous Armor Lux outfit.

Will our southern Bretons win the grail in the final? Will the jury composed of Michel Sarran, Chiara Serpaggi, Bruno Cormerais and Noémie Honiat be won over by the challenge of Maël, Laura and Ronan? We will find out when the final is broadcast, the date of which is not yet known. All Forest residents have already tasted the breads and cakes created for the show and their taste buds have been overwhelmed with happiness.
