51,000 people participated in the run to celebrate the 75th anniversary of the banking industry

The running race is one of a series of activities aimed at celebrating the 75th anniversary of the founding of the banking industry (May 6, 1951 – May 6, 2026), and also marks the start of a new journey, not only with numbers but also with the will, spirit and solidarity of the entire industry and the country to enter a new era, according to Deputy Governor Pham Tien Dung.

The program also means a connection between health training and community responsibility, demonstrating the role of the banking industry in supporting activities in remote areas, policy beneficiaries and people in difficult circumstances. Accordingly, the athlete’s achievements will be converted into a maximum of 7.5 billion VND, contributing to social security activities.

The registration portal closed at the end of May 2, recording 51,000 people from 51 participating teams – a number that has symbolic meaning for the year the National Bank of Vietnam was established (1951), now the State Bank.

The tournament is held completely online, participants use the Strava application to record results of running or walking outdoors. Data syncs automatically and is displayed publicly in real time. Athletes can proactively choose time and location, ensuring transparency and accuracy.

Mr. Nguyen Dinh Vinh, Chief of the Office of the State Bank, said that the running race is an industry-wide activity that not only spreads the spirit of health training, but also strengthens cohesion and promotes social responsibility.

Participants are officials and workers in the industry, including units of the State Bank, financial institutions, Cooperative Banks, Social Policy Bank and commercial banks.

The time to record achievements lasts 26 days, from 0:01 on May 3 to 23:59 on May 28, 2026.
