TCL’s new smart factory integrates manufacturing and AI

TCL, the Chinese consumer electronics giant, has just inaugurated an industrial complex of over 123 hectares in Guangzhou, China, which overturns efficiency standards through an investment of more than 20 million dollars. The facility features three “lights-out” factories operating around the clock, where a supercomputing center coordinates a high-density network of industrial robots and over 2,000 AI agents. From a technical point of view, the production line of high-precision heat exchangers uses advanced algorithms to increase operating efficiency by 41.7%, allowing the completion of a finished air conditioner every seven seconds for a total annual capacity of 8 million units.

This technological development is part of a global expansion framework for TCL which has seen the achievement of the 100 millionth unit produced by 2021, consolidating a network of 40 factories serving over 160 countries, with specific growth in the distribution channel in Central and Northern Italy.

Parallel to the production speed the site adopts a low-carbon model thanks to 50,000 square meters of solar panels and an intelligent energy management system that aims to reduce waste to almost zero.

Reaching 100 million units produced is a historic milestone that reflects the trust of customers around the world”, said Du Juan, CEO of TCL Industries Holdings Co., Ltd.Thanks to artificial intelligence and smart technologies, we continue on the path that sees us committed to improving the quality of life of consumers, while contributing to a more sustainable future through energy-saving solutions and eco-compatible design.
