On a cruise ship the disease cluster that caused the deaths is probably caused by the hantavirus that spreads from person to person.
The species of the virus is certainly not yet known, but the events on the ship could point to an Andes-type hantavirus, says the professor of zoonotic virology Olli Vapalahti.
