Davit Ishkhanyan published a statement from the Azerbaijani prison

“I want to appeal verbally to the human rights defender of the Republic of Armenia so that he can mediate and receive the full texts of our indictments and the full text of our verdict in Armenian and Azerbaijani versions from the relevant structures of Azerbaijan, perhaps through his partner, and pass them on to my family and relatives,” Ishkhanyan said.

He also informed that yesterday he sent a letter of application to the Ministry of Human Rights of Azerbaijan. “There, I had one specific request, so that the full version of our verdict, in Azerbaijani and Armenian, should be mediated and transferred to my family and relatives. The human rights defender promised that he would convey the Azerbaijani version to my family and try to mediate.”

Referring to the trial organized against him and other Armenians, Ishkhanyan stated. “This case is not opened against 15 people, this case is opened against the Armenian people and Armenian statehood, with clear goals and long-term strategy.”

Azerbaijan currently holds 19 prisoners. Baku military court in February to life or long imprisonment condemned 16 Armenian prisoners, including the military-political leadership of Artsakh.
