Google presents Google Health, the evolution of the FitBit app with an interface redesign and integrated personal trainer

Google has announced the evolution of the FitBit appthe new Google Health ‘app’, which integrates all the user’s health and physical activity information in one place and incorporates a trainer powered by Gemini to establish personalized monitoring 24 hours a day.

For over 15 years, FitBit has been an app with which users could record and track their health and fitness data. The company presented its evolution this Thursday, which comes under the name of Google Health and a interface redesign, and that incorporates personalized training.

Google Health presents itself as an application that centralizes all information about the user’s health, gathering what comes from Fitbit and Pixel devices, your favorite apps, and even your medical history. The company has highlighted that it is compatible with more than a hundred third-party applications and devices, including Peloton and Apple Health.

It allows you to share data and daily monitoring with friends and family or with other applications, under a privacy approach that, according to Google, puts the user in control of their data at all times.

This explains the data that is collected and its purpose, and offers the possibility to activate or deactivate the features at any time and to export or delete the data. The company claims that does not use health and wellness data for Google Ads.

The interface has also been redesigned to avoid data fragmentation. Instead, it has been divided into three broad categories (fitness, sleep and health), although it also tracks the menstrual cycle and nutrition; and the user can customize it to browse the data they need and have it at hand whenever they want to review it.

GOOGLE HEALTH COACH

The company has highlighted Google Health Coach integrationa personal trainer powered by Gemini artificial intelligence that is always available and adapts to the user’s needs, based on their goals and circumstances.

This personal trainer covers physical activity, sleep, health and well-being. It is presented as a ‘chatbot’, so that the user can communicate with it in a conversational format, in natural language and at any time.

This format allows you to better detail what you want to achieve or what needs you have, so that the coach can establish a personalized plan, with Daily and post-workout tracking messages, comments and adjustments in real time.

Google launched the trainer in October in an early preview that has already been tested by more than 500,000 users. It is now available within the Google Health Premium paid subscription.
