Iran and Pakistan discussed the latest regional developments

The parties emphasized the need to continue “dialogue and diplomacy”, as well as to promote cooperation between regional states.

The conversation between the two countries’ foreign ministers comes as Iran discusses a new US proposal to end the war.

Before that, the US president expressed the opinion that the war in Iran will end soon. Donald Trump told Reuters that the US cannot allow Iran to have nuclear weapons. Hours before that, the White House announced that Washington had very good negotiations with Tehran in the last day.

Mediator Pakistan welcomed the news of a possible agreement, but said it would not disclose further details at this stage. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs also noted that it is not yet known in which country the next round of negotiations will take place, adding that they would be “honored” if it takes place in Pakistan.
