Fuchs announced major changes: By 2030, every child in kindergarten, and most schools in one shift

During a tour of the construction site of the extension of two schools and the opening of a new kindergarten, Fuchs emphasized that investments in education, from kindergartens to universities, are one of the four key priorities of the Government.

“Investments in kindergartens and schools are investments in the future. 3.2 billion euros will be invested in education, which represents the largest investment in the education system in the history of Croatia. An example of such investments is Kutina, where two schools are being upgraded and a new kindergarten is opening,” said Fuchs.

He added that 15 percent of the total funds from the National Recovery and Resilience Plan (NRRP) are directed specifically to education projects. He particularly emphasized the importance of investment in Sisako-Moslavina County, which, as part of earthquake reconstruction, renovated more than 25 schools and 20 school sports halls, while 13 more kindergartens will be built from NPOO funds. With the completion of these projects, the county will be among the first in Croatia where all schools will work in one shift.

Fuchs emphasized that the investments of the Ministry of Science, Education and Youth in Sisako-Moslavina County exceed 200 million euros, and praised the county for the quality of the prepared projects and their successful implementation.

“Young families need to provide a place where they can safely leave their child while they work and perform their daily duties. The time of the so-called ‘nanny service’ is largely behind us today. That is why it is important for parents to know that their children stay in a safe, quality and stimulating environment, with professionally educated and competent educators”, said Fuchs.

The new regional facility “Ivančica” of the Kutina Kindergarten was built with funds from the NPOO with the aim of increasing the availability of preschool education in the northern part of the city and relieving existing capacities. Up to 32 children can stay in the facility, divided into one kindergarten and one nursery group, and the total value of the investment is 1.37 million euros.

Mayor Ivan Celjak emphasized the importance of cooperation between the Government, Sisak-Moslavina County and the City of Kutina in creating better conditions for education.

“We often say that our children come first, and we confirm this with projects like this. Today’s pace of life leaves parents with less and less time for quality interaction with their children, which is why educators, teachers and teachers play an extremely important role in their upbringing and preparation for life,” said Celjak.

He added that the goal is to ensure the same quality of education for all children, regardless of whether they attend schools in rural or urban areas, and to create the highest quality primary and secondary school system in Croatia.
