Hezbollah Secretary General Sheikh Naim Qassem said that during the Lebanese-Israeli negotiations the issue of disarmament of this Shiite group will not be discussed.
“The weapons of the resistance forces do not concern anyone outside Lebanon. This is an internal Lebanese issue that is not part of negotiations with the enemy,” says the statement published by al-Manar TV, the mouthpiece of Hezbollah.
“We will not give up, but will continue to defend the state and people of Lebanon, no matter how much time and what sacrifices it requires. We will not leave the battlefield, but will turn it into hell for Israel,” added the terrorist leader.
On May 8, the US State Department announced that intensive negotiations between the governments of Israel and Lebanon would take place in the US on May 14 and 15. According to the statement, the parties will hold detailed discussions in an attempt to advance a “comprehensive agreement on peace and security.”
This agreement aims to secure Israel’s northern border, restore Lebanese sovereignty throughout its territory, define clear borders and create pathways for humanitarian aid to Lebanon.
