Test match: Volleyball women start the European Championship year with a win

Schwerin coach Felix Koslowski’s Dutch team got off to a better start in the Berg Fidel sports hall, but the German team came back to score 9:9. The DVV selection found its flow in attack and blocking. There were still some coordination difficulties in the first game of the preparation, but thanks to a strong Lena Kindermann the passage went to Germany. But the guests were more powerful in the second set.

The big goal is the European Championships

In front of 2,500 fans, both teams competed with many young players and there was a lot of change. In sets three and four, the Germans were better in the crucial moments. In the last section, young star Leana Grozer stood out and caused great celebration with her converted match point.

There will be a rematch on Sunday at the same location. From the beginning of June, the German women will compete in the Nations League (VNL). The group stage features twelve games in six weeks in Quebec (Canada), Ankara (Türkiye) and Belgrade (Serbia). Last year, Germany qualified for the final round, which this time will take place in Macao (China). The most important tournament of the year is the European Championship from August 21st.
