Digital security is also a priority of the Ministry, with an investment of 64.5 billion pesos (about 17 million dollars) in that field.

In terms of innovation in citizen services, the gov.co 2.0 platform and the ROBI virtual assistant, with artificial intelligence, improved 24-hour care in a “more inclusive, accessible and adaptable to different devices” way.

Digital talent training

As part of this policy, 1,020,181 Colombians were trained in digital skills, through initiatives such as Talento Tech, SenaTIC, AvanzaTEC and Colombia Programa. This figure exceeds the goal of one million people set at the beginning of the Government.

“We connect educational institutions in rural areas and bring computers. We also work with the most important companies in the sector so that people could train for free in the digital skills that the world demands,” explained the minister.

Some 11,000 professionals were trained in emerging technologies such as artificial intelligence, data analytics and cybersecurity, through programs such as ‘Digital Entrepreneurship’ and ‘Sophistication of Technological Solutions’, the information added.

Through the ‘CiberPeace’ program, the MinTIC raised awareness among 3.4 million people about the responsible, empathetic and careful use of technology, an initiative that also helped reduce gender gaps in the sector with the participation of 41% of women.

The Ministry also indicated that between 2022 and May 2026 it delivered 156,546 computers to students and educational institutions in the country, installed 3,252 technological laboratories and distributed 55,000 microcontrollers to enhance learning in programming and computational thinking in more than 8,000 schools.
