Helsinki accepted PK-35’s report and granted grants

In mid-April, the city submitted a clarification request to PK-35. The request for clarification was based on Yle’s story, which presented claims by the club’s former executive director Antti Laitinen for alleged misconduct.

According to Laitinen, the city’s decision is clearly positive for him.

“The city’s decision practically shows that my actions have not been reprehensible in their opinion,” says Antti Laitinen.

According to the city, based on the club’s report, there is no reason to suspect that the club has violated the conditions of the sports subsidies. Therefore, the club could be granted operating and facility use subsidies for 2026.

Head of the sports partnership unit Miika Kyllönen said in April that the city wanted to find out what had happened in PK-35 and how the club had operated.

The city’s general guidelines state that the condition for the payment and award of the grant is that there have been no ambiguities or abuses in the applicant’s activities.
