CEC deprived Andranik Tevanyan of his immunity

According to the Prosecutor’s Office, the CEC has satisfied the petitions regarding the initiation of criminal prosecution and deprivation of liberty against Tevanyan.

Two days ago, after Prime Minister Pashinyan’s announcement from the podium of the rally that the National Security Service was going to send a report on Tevanyan’s issue, the materials were already on the table of the Investigative Committee yesterday, and the proceedings on the articles of state treason and espionage were not delayed.

Tevanyan does not accept the claims of the investigators and the prime minister that he spied for Russia.

Meanwhile, the Investigative Committee counters that they have information that Tevanyan was recruited by foreign special services and two years ago the director of the “Russia Caucasus” geopolitical center, who according to law enforcement officers is a foreign agent, received state secret information from Tevanyan in exchange for $622,000. They refer to the hearings held in the closed, secret session of the National Assembly in April 2024, which were on the topic of border demarcation. The Foreign Minister and the Chairman of the Border Liberation Commission, Deputy Prime Minister Mher Grigoryan took part in that session, which was called by the initiative of the opposition.
