Sony presents its first BRAVIA True RGB televisions

Sony has introduced the BRAVIA 9 II and BRAVIA 7 II televisions, the brand’s first with True RGB technology, featuring independently controlled RGB LEDs and a new anti-glare and anti-reflective screen.

The technology company reinforces its intention to bring the cinema to the home with the new BRAVIA 9 II and BRAVIA 7 II televisions and the BRAVIA Theater Trio audio system, which have been designed to “faithfully” reproduce the creator’s visual and sound intention.

The televisions are the company’s first to use BRAVIA True RGB technology, which uses independently controlled red, green and blue LEDs for accurate color reproduction in bright living rooms, as reported by Sony.

Sony’s ‘Backlight Master Drive Pro’ technology controls each LED precisely to improve brightness, reduce blooming – the halo effect on some bright elements – and produce purer colors than conventional Mini LED displays. Additionally, images are guaranteed to view uniformly regardless of the viewing angle with ‘X-Wide Angle’ technology.

The two televisions are large format: the BRAVIA 9 II reaches a diagonal of up to 115 inches, while the BRAVIA 7 II offers sizes between 50 and 98 inches. They also have full-range speakers that, in addition to offering solid sound, improve the clarity of dialogue with ‘Voice Zoom 3’ and transform stereo sound into 3D Surround with ‘3D Surround Upscaling’

BRAVIA 9 II, as a flagship model, also uses ‘RGB Triluminos Max’ and ‘Luminance Booster Pro’ technologies to deliver greater color volume, as well as smoother gradations and more accurate tones at higher brightness levels.

The screen of this television also has a new treatment, ‘Immersive Black Screen Pro’, which makes it anti-glare and low-reflection, to offer more intense and deeper blacks. The sound has also been enhanced with surround audio.

BRAVIA THEATER TRIO

BRAVIA Theater Trio is a high-end wireless home theater system designed for large screens, developed in collaboration with Sony Pictures Entertainment to “embody the passion and artistry of sound creators.”

It consists of a three-speaker system (optimized front left, right and center speakers) and uses Sony’s ‘360 Spatial Sound Mapping’ technology to generate up to 24 phantom speakers to create a “multidimensional sound field that gives the impression that there are numerous speakers spread throughout the room, faithfully conveying the depth, location and nuances that the filmmakers intended.”

It incorporates a UBC-C microphone and offers support for Dolby Atmos, DTS:X and IMAX Enhanced for compatible content. Sony says it can be expanded with optional subwoofers and rear speakers.
