Anthropic’s new investment round: the company is valued at $965 billion

American AI startup Anthropic announced the completion of a new round of funding, which valued the company at $965 billion.

Anthropic said it has raised $65 billion in a Series H round. Lead investors include Altimeter Capital, Dragoneer, Greenoaks and Sequoia Capital. The round also included participation from other financial investors and the company’s strategic infrastructure partners, including Micron Technology, Samsung Electronics and SK Hynix.

For comparison, OpenAI was valued at $852 billion in its March investment round. Anthropic raised funding at a $380 billion valuation in February, more than doubling its valuation in just a few months.

Anthropic was founded in 2021 by people from OpenAI. Its flagship product is the Claude AI service, which is used by enterprise clients for programming, data analysis, workflow automation and other tasks. The company says demand for Claude continues to grow rapidly, with annualized revenue topping $47 billion in early May and expected to reach $50 billion in June.

Anthropic intends to use the new funds for further research, including in the field of AI security, expansion of computing infrastructure, development of products and partnership programs, as well as to meet growing demand from corporate clients.
