New balance of power at Vienna Austria

Michael Wagner quit as sports director, Tomas Zorn now has sole say as sports director. He came at the suggestion of his predecessor Jürgen Werner, with whom he should maintain regular contact. Wagner, in turn, was thrown into the race by AG board member Harald Zagiczek.

Werner is no longer the sports director and does not have a seat on the supervisory board, but he still has influence from the second row. Because he has confidants on the supervisory board and still holds shares in the investment group WTF. And with anger in the sporting area, one that he himself suggested.

Zagiczek’s contract expires in October. At the beginning of the year he was suspected of doing illegal things. An external investigation did not confirm this. He recently received high praise from President Kurt Gollowitzer in the media.

The same Gollowitzer who railed against Werner some time ago and had a shouting match with him in the VIP club, but has now adapted his position to suit the situation. All attempts to keep Jürgen Werner away from Austria have failed in the long term. His critics and opponents appear to be losing power.
