Trump says he will not attack Iran despite suspended negotiations

In an interview with NBC News, the Republican president said that Iran has not yet officially informed the US about the suspension, but suggested that such an attitude should not change anything for now.

“I think we’ve been talking too much, to tell you the truth. I think silence would be really good,” Trump said.

“(The suspension of negotiations) does not mean that we are going to start bombing everything there. We are just going to remain silent. We will maintain the blockade (naval of Iranian ports). The blockade is unshakable,” said the American president, who added: “I think I can wait as long as they want.”

Earlier, the Iranian agency Tasnim had reported that the Islamic regime suspended the talks due to the deepening of Israel’s offensive in Lebanon, where Israelis are facing the terrorist group Hezbollah, an ally of Tehran.

One of Iran’s demands to end the war is that the conflict in Lebanon also be stopped.

The Iranian announcement came after a weekend in which the American press reported that Trump had returned with changes a proposed agreement to extend the ceasefire with Iran for 60 days and reopen the Strait of Hormuz, almost completely blocked by the regime since the start of the war.
