“He’s coming back”, Ferrer ‘reveals’ Alcaraz’s return from injury (and warns Sinner)

“I talked to him and he says that he really wants to compete again“, Ferrer revealed on the ‘Partidazo de COPE’ podcast, “his recovery is going well, I don’t know when he will return but the wait for him is starting to be long. He wrote to me that he would fly to Barcelona for a new check-up.”

On his Instagram profile, Alcaraz had published a series of photos portraying him in different moments of the last period, between leisure and holidays with friends, but two images were especially striking. One is a video that shows the Spaniard on the court while he trains, however using his left hand to hold the racket, so as not to strain his injured wrist. A way to regain confidence with the field, the distances and also the ball.

Another photo, however, aroused some more apprehension. In fact, Alcaraz showed himself in a ‘hospital’ outfit, complete with bracelet on his wrist and tunic. Everything therefore suggests that the world number 2 has undergone a surgical operation to resolve, once and for all, the wrist problem and for this reason he would have postponed his return, also giving up Wimbledon.
