Red card to the President of Armenia. protest action demanding the release of Artur Osipyan

There is a protest in front of the presidential residence demanding the release of Artur Osipyan from Artsakh.

The action was initiated by the citizens who have been sitting here for 4 days. They sent a letter to the country’s president to ask the general prosecutor to release Osipyan. Gegham Ohanyan, who is holding a sit-in today, announced that they have no answer, and all the participants showed a red card to the president.

The young man, who has been detained for 17 days, refuses food, he demands that the Prime Minister apologize for calling him a “runaway” and insulting him. Nikol Pashinyan himself is waiting for an apology.

Artur Osipyan from Artsakh reminded the prime minister of the negotiation process during a heated argument during the campaign and also criticized the former leadership of Nagorno Karabakh. Eventually, however, it came down to insults when the activist said that Aliyev was raising the issue of the return of Azerbaijani refugees. Hours later, Osipyan was charged with public incitement to violence, hooliganism and obstructing propaganda. However, until now, the Investigative Committee has not specified what specific actions and words they accuse him of. According to the lawyer, Osipyan is accused of talking to the prime minister in a loud tone.

Representatives of the Armenian political society call Osipyan’s detention illegal and claim that it is political.
