The average salary in Israel decreased by 1,570 shekels in April

According to the Central Bureau of Statistics, in April 2026, the average salary in Israel decreased by 1,570 shekels compared to March and amounted to 14,409 shekels.

The decline comes as hundreds of thousands of low-wage workers who were furloughed in March due to the war with Iran are returning to work.

Let us recall that in March there was a jump in the average salary to almost 16,000 shekels per month against the backdrop of the war, so we are talking about the correction of a statistical anomaly.

However, it should be noted that on an annual basis, the average salary in April increased by 4% compared to April 2025.
