New escalation of confrontation with Iran: repelling attacks in Kuwait and Bahrain

Amid the escalation, the Kuwaiti military reported that the country’s air defense systems were intercepting missiles and drones. The statement emphasized that the sounds of explosions in the area were associated with interceptions; no hits were reported. Less than an hour after the previous episode, Kuwait’s government agency reported air defense operations against missiles and UAVs in the country’s airspace.

Air raid sirens were also sounded in Bahrain due to a missile attack believed to be from Iran.

US Army Central Command (CENTCOM) said another wave of Iranian drones attempting to attack US forces in Kuwait failed to reach their targets. According to the command, air defense systems shot down several drones, none of the American troops were injured, and no damage was caused to American facilities.

Earlier, CENTCOM denied the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps’ statement that Iranian missiles and drones allegedly hit the headquarters of the US 5th Fleet in Bahrain and one of the US air bases in the region.
