Archbishop Križić: There is enough bread in the world, but many people die because of selfishness

“We have enough bread in the world, but there are not enough hearts that give gifts. That’s why today in the 21st century many are dying of hunger”, pointed out Archbishop Križić in the sermon.

He emphasized that he has a lot of words, but little value, a lot of superficiality, but little willingness to give his whole self to others.

“Jesus does exactly that, he gives himself whole and remains with us in the Eucharist, so that we are never alone,” said Križić.

According to his words, the logic of Christ is lived by a father who sacrifices himself for his children, who works honestly and carries the burden for the family. The logic of Christ, he understood, is a living and young man who remains faithful to God, a person who forgives, and a patient who suffers. “All of them are giving themselves, and that is not easy,” said Archbishop Križić.

He emphasized that Corpus Christi is not only a feast of hosts, processions or customs, but it is a feast of God’s love.

“We can give a person money or a gift, but if we didn’t give ourselves – all the gifts we gave lose value,” said Križić.

He also said that going to mass should not be seen as a command, but rather a life necessity, “because at mass we receive a gift from heaven”.
