Target from abroad, Jacy reveals recipe for Coritiba to surprise

“We understood that if we didn’t run, if we weren’t united, we would be in trouble. If we were to play on equal terms with any Serie A team, we know that they have much greater investment and players who played in Europe. “Several people come into this success, including Seabra, its committee, William Thomas, Jorge. This unit of ours is doing something completely different. And we knew that if, in this first round, we managed to score as many points as possible, we would surprise”, he said.

A trademark of Fernando Seabra’s campaign, Jacy spoke about Coxa finding counterattacks as the main weapon to surprise technically stronger opponents. He also cited Breno Lopes, Lucas Ronier, Lavega and Josué as key players in this success.

“We managed to defend very well and have a very strong counterattack with Breno, Ronier and Lavega. And we still have Josué, who sees things that only he sees on the field”, he said.

The defender still sees a squad with room for growth following the season and spoke about the combination of youth and experience in the composition of the alviverde group.

“There are still many players to improve. We have a very good mix of young athletes with experienced players, this helps a lot in the development of the team”, he added.
