Who is Sonia Grineva?

Born in Moscow, daughter of a scientist and a historian, Sonia Grineva grew up in an environment steeped in culture, surrounded by a deep love for painting and poetry, passions that have shaped her expressive language since childhood. After completing her artistic training at the Academy of Fine Arts in Moscow, she moved to New York at a very young age, perfecting her technical talent at the prestigious National Academy of Drawing.

Grineva’s work is universally recognized for its extraordinary chromatic sensitivity. Particularly iconic is his use of the intense greena mysterious shade that the artist prefers and which becomes the protagonist of many of his canvases, evoking emotional depths and ancestral connections with nature.

The exhibition at the Spazio Frau presents an exclusive selection of at least 20 works, including large-format canvases and ceramics finely crafted and hand-painted by Grineva herself, testifying to her versatility in mastering different materials and surfaces.
“We are thrilled to host Sonia Grineva’s debut in Sardinia”, declared the founders of the gallery, Daniele Frau, heir of the historic Frau family, and the gallerist and curator Daniela Cittadini, “her ability to blend academic rigor with a unique visual lyricism finds in this space the ideal stage to dialogue with the light and colors of our territory.

The welcome vernissage, scheduled for 6 June at 6.30 pm (Spazio Frau, Via Copenhagen 78, Olbia), is an opportunity to immerse yourself in Sonia Grineva’s poetic universe and get to know the artist up close.
