Artur Osipyan will be released, he has not stopped the hunger strike yet

“The supervising prosecutor, among other things, taking into account the petitions addressed to the RA Prosecutor General and the supervising prosecutor regarding the willingness of a group of representatives of the civil society to assume guarantee for the accused Artur Osipyan, has made a decision to remove the preventive detention applied to Artur Osipyan,” the prosecutor’s office reports.

The decision was sent to the “Nubarashen” penitentiary institution of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Armenia in order to immediately release the person.

Artur Osipyan from Artsakh reminded the prime minister of the negotiation process during a heated argument during the campaign and also criticized the former leadership of Nagorno Karabakh. Eventually, however, it came down to insults when the activist said that Aliyev was raising the issue of the return of Azerbaijani refugees. Hours later, Osipyan was charged with public incitement to violence, hooliganism and obstructing propaganda.

Pashinyan was so angry at his questions about the Karabakh negotiation process that even after shouting, he blamed why he did not die in the war. Already in prison, Osipyan went on a hunger strike, demanding an apology from the prime minister for insulting him and calling him a “runaway”. However, Pashinyan himself is waiting for an apology. According to Artur Osipyan’s lawyer, Osipyan has not stopped his hunger strike.

Representatives of the Armenian civil society described Osipyan’s detention as illegal, claiming that it was political. A group of public figures signed a personal guarantee for Osipyan, emphasizing that they will be responsible for his behavior if the Artsakh man is released.
