Elections in Peru: Keiko Fujimori extends her lead to 1,300 votes over Sánchez

Sánchez’s political party also reiterated its call for calm so that the electoral process concludes “without any incidents”, after the call for mobilizations in several cities of the country in support of its presidential candidate.

The general secretary of Together for Peru, Ernesto Zunini, said that they have taken the latest results of the vote counting “calmly” and that now they only wait for the process to conclude.

“We are in a democratic country, apart from supporting (the demonstrations), we do call on the population for calm so that the electoral process concludes without any incidents,” he remarked.
