Mehr: Iran-US agreement includes ending war in Lebanon and billions of dollars

According to the publication, the draft document includes the following provisions:

1. Immediate and permanent end to the war on all fronts, including Lebanon.

2. The US commitment not to interfere in the internal affairs of Iran and to respect the sovereignty of the Islamic Republic.

3. Complete lifting of the naval blockade within 30 days.

4. US commitment to withdraw its forces from areas adjacent to Iran.

5. Resumption of navigation through the Strait of Hormuz within 30 days in accordance with the conditions determined by Iran.

6. Suspension of sanctions on the sale of oil, petrochemical products and their derivatives, as well as providing Iran with full access to relevant financial resources.

7. A commitment by the United States and its allies to present Iran reconstruction programs worth at least $300 billion.

8. Conducting negotiations within 60 days to reach a final agreement on the nuclear program and the complete lifting of primary and secondary US sanctions, as well as sanctions imposed by resolutions of the UN Security Council and the IAEA Board of Governors.

9. Confirmation by Iran of its obligations under the Treaty on the Non-Proliferation of Nuclear Weapons (NPT), which provide for the renunciation of the creation of nuclear weapons.

10. During the negotiations, the United States undertakes not to increase its military presence in the region and not to introduce new sanctions.

11. Unblocking $24 billion of Iranian funds during the 60-day negotiation period. Half of this amount should become available to Iran even before the start of negotiations.

12. Creation of a mechanism for monitoring the implementation of the agreement.

13. The final agreement must be approved by a resolution of the UN Security Council.

14. Final negotiations will not begin until half of the frozen Iranian funds are released, oil sanctions are suspended and the naval blockade is lifted. The final agreement will concern exclusively the fate of enriched materials and the uranium enrichment program, the lifting of sanctions and the program for restoring the Iranian economy. The issues of the Iranian missile program and support for the “resistance forces” are completely excluded from the agenda of the negotiations.

As an official representative of the Iranian Foreign Ministry previously stated, this document still requires consideration and final approval by the competent authorities of the Islamic Republic.

Let us note that earlier the office of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu reported that he had a conversation with US President Donald Trump about “the emerging memorandum of understanding with Iran, which should open the way to negotiations.”

The office said in a statement: “While Israel is not a party to the memorandum of understanding, the Prime Minister commended President Trump for his commitment to ensuring that the final negotiated agreement includes provisions for the removal of enriched material, the dismantling of enrichment infrastructure, limiting missile production and ending Iran’s support for its terrorist proxies in the region.”

As we can see, this statement contradicts Tehran’s assertion that the issues of missile production and Iran’s support for its terrorist proxies in the region are completely excluded from the negotiations.
