Facebook and Instagram down and WhatsApp with problems: users from all over the world report failures in their accounts

The first signs of the interruption began to appear on the specialized site Downdetectorwhere reports grew abruptly in a matter of minutes. According to affected users, many were automatically logged out of their accounts and then encountered errors that prevented them from logging back in.

In some cases, the platform simply displayed a blank page. Other users indicated that Facebook kicked them out of their active sessions without prior notice and that, when trying to authenticate again, they received messages related to query errors or unknown failures.

The situation also reached Messenger. Numerous users turned to X (ex Twitter) to confirm that the problem was not individual. “Has anyone else been logged out of Facebook Messenger and can’t log back in?” one user wrote, while others reported “Unknown Error” or “Query Error” messages.

Among the most repeated errors was a generic Facebook screen with the message: “Sorry, something went wrong. We’re working on it and we’ll get it fixed as soon as we can.”

The legend, accompanied by a link to go back and a reference to the Facebook Help Centerusually appears when the platform experiences internal problems or temporary interruptions in its servers.

The screenshot shared by users shows precisely that message, without providing additional details about the origin of the failure.

The disruption was not limited to Facebook. According to reports compiled by Downdetector, Instagram and WhatsApp register a sharp increase in incidents in a few hours.

Among the most frequent problems are unexpected session closures, inability to load the main feed, errors when logging in, and problems accessing profiles and direct messages.

Regarding the courier, the incidents are focused on sudden service interruptions.

As these are platforms that they share part of their infrastructure technological within Meta, it is not strange that a failure in central systems ends up impacting several services simultaneously.

Meta platforms have seen several massive outages in recent years. One of the most memorable occurred in October 2021, when Facebook, Instagram and WhatsApp remained out of service for several hours due to a network configuration problem.

More recently, there were also global outages that caused automatic logouts and authentication problems, raising concerns among users who believed they had been victims of hacks or account lockouts.

In these types of incidents, specialists recommend avoiding hasty changes to the account.

If Facebook or Instagram logged you out automatically, it’s best not to change your password immediately, check the status of the service, wait a few minutes before trying to log in again, and confirm that the issue also affects other users.

Until now, Meta had not published an official explanation about the origin of the interruption or a schedule for the complete normalization of the service on all its platforms.
