The Qatari delegation has flown to Tehran; Iran says that a decision on signing has not yet been made

The Qatari delegation flew to Tehran to help agree on the text of a document designed to end hostilities between the United States and Iran. This is reported by the media, in particular Reuters and CNN.

At the same time, the Fars agency associated with the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps quotes an informed source close to the negotiations, according to which a final decision regarding the signing of the protocol of intent has not yet been made.

“Verification of the political, legal and technical aspects of the agreement at the political and technical level is still ongoing,” says a spokesman for the ayatollah regime.

Earlier, US President Donald Trump announced the practical completion of the preparation of an agreement to extend the current ceasefire and the signing of a “memorandum of understanding”, including the full opening of the Strait of Hormuz.

For Donald Trump, the date of signing the agreement is important: the US President celebrates his 80th birthday on June 14, and like his “friend and colleague” Vladimir Putin, Trump is prone to vainglorious celebrations of dates.
